An Internet marketing giant omits to say this to a shopaholic on a Valentine's Day…

do not send iPods though they feel right
do not send chocolate nor perishable types
do not send cash even if you don’t know why

send diamonds dazzled on a flying kite
send Victoria’s Secret not a Gucci bag
send sunny weather, send blue sky
send tender caress in a carousel ride
send a ring, you send an invite
send a PDFed rose on a zipped cherry pie
send downloadable kisses and tell a lie
a sweet dot j-p-g is only a few years younger than I

Possible reasons for the omission:

1. A Valentine's Day without actually spending is great for the consumer but a loss on the economy and a bad reflection on the marketers;
2. This is a modern day conspiracy of anti-shopping;
3. It sounded a lot like a pro-Victoria Secret advertorial since the sexy lingerie retailer has partnered with Market America;
4. On one hand it's seductive and titillating, on the other you DON’T WANT TO treat your lover like a cheap date;
5. We change the way people shop and we encourage shopping, shopping and shopping, all year long;
6. It's none of the above;
7. Lend my soul, lend my heart, but never lend my Gucci bag.
